Terrance L Russ
Terrance L. Russ is Chairman, President, and CEO of The Russ Group of Companies. It is the holding company for his new media venture interest. Those interest will be a new record company and movie company. The music company will focus itself on compact disc, and vintage vinyl platforms. The Internet and traditional retail will be used to distribute the company’s product.
The exciting component will be the motion picture unit. This venture will develop productions for release through the DVD format. The first project going into production is the Uptown Magazine venture. It will be short movies using the backdrop of modern music with Harlem being a visually stunning centerpiece.
Mr. Russ' New Origin Communications Inc. represents athletes from NFL Superbowl champion Ty Law, boxer Zab Judah, and Kenny Anderson to former NFL stars now businessmen, Matthew Hatchette (now an actor), and Damien Robinson. Some of his roster includes actress Elise Neal, actor/director/author Stanley Bennett Clay, whose motion picture "Ritual" stars Clarence Williams III and Denise Nicholas.
Some of Mr. Russ' past clients (and some relationships he still maintains to this day) include Heavy D., Al B. Sure, music producer Teddy Riley, Hank Shocklee (producer and mastermind behind the great Public Enemy), CableVision (which owns Metro Channel and Madison Square Garden) and Mr. Russ was a consulting producer for a couple of programs "Game Face" hosted by Dave Sims and "Out Of Bounds." He reached out by telephone to Stephon Marbury, Don King, Mets' great Derrick Bell to New York Knick legend Herb Williams at short notice to make appearances. Other talents Mr. Russ has represented are Melba Moore, and model icon Pat Evans; the list is wide and varied.
Mr. Russ continues to establish his reach. Now with the implementation of the new media company he "gets to the other side of the table", as he is so fond of saying. "The onus will be on good work that might hopefully be deemed great work", he says.
Mr. Russ will as always avail himself to be helpful, picking up his ever present telephone, and altering the state of affairs for people. As a television producer associate who worked with Mr. Russ stated, "its better to have a mobilized Terrance Russ working for you than against you. He makes things happen. Not just a talker; a doer of the highest order." The television producer added," it will be interesting to see Terrance working outside of the shadows. He is a mystery; even when you lay eyes on him; a handsome, beautiful enigma. I wish him well, and a bit of luck. He will be even more successful." He chuckles; "and make still more money than me and my wife combined in a years time in six months time."
